Feast your eyes on iconic characters from horror flicks like The Ring as you dance to the “ghoulish beats dropped by DJ Sounds of Fai” and feast on a, er, Brain Dessert (above pic). It’s a disturbingly realistic-looking creation of Madagascar vanilla parfait with raspberry sorbet, crunchy white chocolate praline and almond biscuits. Hopefully, it tastes better than it looks. Feast on Lime’s Sub-Lime Halloween buffet. There’re all sorts of fun, ghoulish dishes, such as Bat Wings (Braised Guinness Stout Chicken Wings), Devil's Tongue (Sichuan Duck Tongue) and Einstein’s Brain (Foie Gras with Raspberry Sauce). There are live stations too, featuring a “sacrificial showcase of Roasted Baby Lamb, Suckling Pig Confit and Beef Sirloin”. This heaving chocolate shake features a vanilla frosted rim, chocolate drizzle and a Himalayan mound of whipped cream studded with candy corn (a waxy American tricoloured sweet usually eaten during Halloween), orange rock candy, white and orange lollipop and the piece de resistance: a ‘spider-web’ chocolate cupcake right in the centre. KTV joint Ganso Manekineko (part of the K Box group) is offering a Halloween-themed buffet, and frankly, the food here is the scariest — and most unappetising — on this list. For instance, a bloodied foot (plastic limb drizzled with what seems like tomato sauce) is planted unpleasantly in the middle of a platter of what we suspect is sliced smoked duck (the guy we spoke to over the phone said he “wasn’t sure” what the meat was). There’re also mini burgers with green buns of uncertain origin. Or you could play it safe by ordering a la carte items like the Hell Fire Wings ($7), which are chicken wings slathered in Korean hot sauce. Then wash it down with a Bloody Lychee Juice ($3.80), juice garnished with canned lychees stuffed with what we think are blueberries drizzled in blood-red strawberry syrup. Shudder.
