Allan Moo’s 9-Year-Old Daughter Ate Only Bread For 3 Days So She Could Buy Him A Father’s Day Present
Malaysian-born singer Allan Moo, 53, and his older daughter, Enya, nine, were the guests on the final episode of A Night Under The Stars.
Allan is best known for being the younger brother of singer Eric Moo. He also had a string of hit songs back in the ‘90s, like ‘Don’t You Feel My Love For You’ and ‘Mistakes’.
Even though he took a step back from the spotlight to venture into business in 2012, Allan occasionally still holds concerts for his fans.
In 2013, Allan tied the knot with non-celeb Shirley Elizabeth Tan and they have two daughters together, Enya and Leya, five.
On A Night Under The Stars, host Darren Lim and his youngest son, Elliot, nine, took Allan and Enya on a camping trip to Hantu Island where the group snorkeled, went kite flying and made their own pizzas.
Allan shared a story about the most thoughtful gift he's received
While the kids were busy designing their own kites, Darren and Allan chatted about a common interest their little ones shared — drawing.
Darren revealed that Elliot would often doodle at home, making cards that said “Daddy I love you” and “Mummy I love you” for him and his wife, Evelyn Tan.
Allan then said that Enya would make bookmarks with ‘thank you’ messages for friends and family. While on the topic of sweet things their children did, Allan, who said he seldom cries, revealed a recent incident that nearly made him tear up.
“I give her an allowance for school and because of Father’s Day, she ate only bread for three days so she could save up enough money to buy a coaster that read ‘The Best Father In The World’,” beamed Allan, who must have remembered the message wrongly.
When he later shared a pic of the coaster, it had the words 'You Are The Best Dad Ever' carved in it instead.
Allan's cherished coaster
Sitting by their tents at night, Allan told Darren more about a song he wrote for Enya.
“There were tears in her eyes after hearing the song. Enya is a person who gets touched easily, but she likes to put on a strong front. When I reached a certain part of the song, she just froze there and her eyes were teary,” Allan said.
He then explained that he had incorporated the words “cheeky bom bom” into the lyrics of the song. Those words were printed on a pillow that Enya had since she was a baby. It was also what she called the pillow.
At the point of filming, Allan had yet to finish writing the song, which he named ‘Little Pillow’.
However, the finished product could be heard at the end of the episode, which featured a clip of Allan and Enya flying a kite while holding hands.
