American horror story alum not happy about Kim Kardashian being cast in season 12: 'What are you doing with your life?'
Patti LuPone "does not like" that Kim Kardashian is starring in the upcoming season of American Horror Story.
Kardashian, 42, has landed a part in the 12th season of the hit FX anthology series by Ryan Murphy, which will see her star alongside Emma Roberts.
But Lupone, who appeared in Season 3 (Coven) and Season 12 (NYC), doesn't approve of her casting.
During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live, host Andy Cohen asked Lupone, 74: "You don’t like it, do you?”
The Broadway legend, who has starred in such musicals as Gypsy, Sunset Boulevard and Les Miserables, responded by referencing the lyrics to the Noel Coward song, 'Mrs Worthington': "No I don't! She's taking roles from actors. Excuse me, excuse me, Kim — what are you doing with your life? Don't get on the stage, Mrs. Worthington!"
Per Variety, a representative for Murphy said Kardashian's character was crafted specifically for her.
Season 12 of American Horror Story is titled Delicate and a promo clip teases: "Emma Roberts and Kim Kardashian are delicate."
Roberts, 32, who has had multiple roles on the show since 2013, wrote on her own page: "This summer ... Kim and I are DELICATE."
Kardashian and Roberts' roles are not known at this time, but the ex-wife of Kanye West will play the lead — a career first for Kardashian.
Kardashian has previously made cameos in How I Met Your Mother, 2 Broke Girls, and Ocean's 8. She also appeared in the 2008 parody flick Disaster Movie. She showed off her comedy chops as the host of Saturday Night Live in 2021. She's currently starring in her own reality show, The Kardashians, now in its third season on Hulu.
