Blackie Chen denies he sexually harassed Taiwanese celeb Da Ya; wife Christine Fan shows support with statement

Just when we thought we are done with the barrage of Taiwanese stars and their #MeToo scandals, earlier today (Jun 27), former Hey Girl member Da Ya shared on Facebook that she was sexually harassed by a man she referred to as "Ex-Boss Mr Chen" back in 2012.

Though Da Ya, 38, didn't explicitly name him, it could be easily inferred that she was talking about Taiwanese star Blackie Chen, 46. The latter owns talent agency A Legend Star Entertainment Corp, which Da Ya was signed to. Blackie was also the host of Taiwanese variety show Blackie's Teenage Club, in which Da Ya was part of the cast.

Da Ya also mentioned Blackie's wife Taiwanese singer Christine Fan, 47, in her post, which further confirmed who the alleged perpetuator is.

After the post went viral, Blackie swiftly released an official statement to shut down Tina's allegations, asserting that he's "never been alone with Da Ya" and that her "accusations are baseless and completely untrue".

According to Da Ya, she was filming a variety show in Hong Kong in July 2011 when the incident happened.

She claimed that at that time, Blackie had barged into her hotel room to hug her, and tried to force her to have sex. After Da Ya refused, Blackie, who married Christine in May that same year, insisted on doing the deed, even telling her to "do it quickly".

He also reportedly said: "No choice, Christine just really doesn't like doing things like this!"

When Da Ya reminded him that she's his artiste, she claimed Blackie retorted: "But you are really hot!"

Da Ya said she eventually managed to get Blackie to stop harrassing her when they heard sounds outside the room.

She also shared why she chose to keep mum about what Blackie had done back then.

According to Da Ya, she was once put in 'cold storage' by Blackie when she was still in Hey Girl, and was "fully aware that [the latter] had ways to cause [her] to lose all [her] jobs".

"If I had more courage to expose his misdeeds at that time, perhaps I wouldn't be branded a traitor when I left the agency. I also would not get the chills every time I see or hear his name," she wrote.

Meanwhile, Christine also released the same official statement shared by Blackie's lawyer through her manager, showing support for her husband.

In the statement, Blackie said he only participated in group activities with Da Ya when they were in Hong Kong. It was also written that he is "a righteous man who would eagerly step up to face [the consequences] if he had committed any immoral behaviour".

With regards to Blackie's statement, Da Ya said: "Whatever I said is the truth and my conscience is clear. Justice and truth will prevail."
