Chinese influencer known for being Leslie Cheung’s lookalike exposed for cheating on wife and scamming a fan

A Chinese influencer whose claim to fame was his resemblance to the late Leslie Cheung has come under fire recently after a post exposing his unsavoury behaviour went viral.

The influencer, who goes by the name Guo Chaoyang, first appeared on the variety show Golden 100 Seconds, where he earned the nickname “Little Leslie Cheung”.

Chaoyang went on to gain a larger following — he now has about 127,000 followers on Douyin — as a live stream host, and his streams would feature Leslie's songs playing in the background. He

However, it turns out that Chaoyang was making use of his fame to fleece a fan out of her money. And he did that by pretending to be single, and even convincing her to start dating him.

That's Leslie on the left, and the lookalike on the right.

The fan went online to denounce Chaoyang, sharing a screenshot of her chat with the influencer, who was basically begging her not to expose him.

In the screenshot, Chaoyang, who’s married with a kid, writes: “I, I don’t expect your forgiveness, I just don’t wish to lose you. In the future, I’ll treat you with utmost sincerity. I’ll use my time to make up for cheating you. I’ll be in guilt forever.”

The fan then replies: “With my personality, not exposing you is the kindest thing I can do for you,” with Chaoyang agreeing.

He does resemble Leslie.

Chaoyang then went on to indirectly admit that he is indeed married in the same screenshot. Unfortunately for him, it seems like the fan changed her mind, and has decided to expose his misdeeds online.

Netizens have piled on to criticise Chaoyang, with many lambasting the influencer for tarnishing the reputation of Leslie.

Tsk tsk.
