This Chinese influencer looks and sings just like Leslie Cheung
If there ever was a ranking of celebs with the most impersonators and doppelgängers, we reckon that the late Leslie Cheung will definitely come up tops.
The singer-actor, who passed away in 2003 (yes, that's two decades ago), has so many lookalikes making headlines that we don’t even know where to start.
And now, a new contender has joined in the fray. This Chinese internet celeb, who goes by his full name, Yu Junhan, has been gaining followers by the truckloads on Douyin, after fans started taking note of just how much he resembles Leslie.
That's Junhan in the middle of his Leslie transformation on the left, and post-transformation on the right.
But it’s not just his looks.
The Guangzhou native does two live streams daily, in which he has his make-up done by a special effects make-up artist to look like Leslie, and to serenade viewers with renditions of Leslie’s biggest hits.
He's a live stream star.
With about 620,000 followers on his account, Junhan had about 650 viewers watching his mid-afternoon live stream when 8days.sg clicked into the stream on a Monday.
He also describes himself as someone who “is very fond of Cantopop and likes Leslie Cheung” in his profile.
While some netizen apparently feel that Junhan still needs to brush up on his singing, most appeared to be fans of his singing, commenting that he “really sounds like Leslie”.
We definitely see the resemblance.
Others praised the make-up artist for making Junhan look just like Leslie.
“This is probably the most convincing [Leslie] lookalike,” one netizen wrote, while another mused: “Though no one can truly replace Leslie, [Junhan] really does look like [the star].”
