Chris Hemsworth Says Avengers Cast Roasted Chris Evans’ Sexiest Man Alive Cover In Chat Group: “Downey Said He’s Being Arrested”
The six original cast members of Avengers had a field day teasing Chris Evans' “Sexiest Man Alive” title.
Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to promote his new National Geographic/Disney+ docu-series, Limitless, Chris Hemsworth shared that the six original actors from The Avengers used their group text chat to ridicule Evans’s People magazine cover which shows him flexing his pecs while his hands behind his back.
The group chat consists of Hemsworth (Thor), Robert Downey Jr (Iron Man), Evans (Captain America), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), and Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow).
“It very quickly was like, ‘What are you doing with your hands back there?’” Hemsworth said. “Downey said he’s being arrested. I was it was a beautiful mugshot. Then Jeremy Renner said a series of things which we won’t repeat.”
And it was Renner, according to Hemsworth, who often keeps the group “filthy.
The God of Thunder himself was named “Sexiest Man Alive” back in 2014 and hailed Evans’ title this year a “passing of the torch”.
“He’s indeed a sexy man,” Hemsworth added. “So well done, you know? Thank your parents.”
And Evans did thank her mother. In a People video posted on social media, Evans said, “My mum will be so happy. She’s proud of everything I do, but this is something she can really brag about.”
Responding to her son’s achievement, Evans’ mum, Lisa, told a Boston news channel last week, “He’s always amazed at his own success, he’s amazed at what people think of him.”
And though she’s proud of Evans, she thinks his friends will see it as a reason to poke fun at him. She said, “[His friends] will absolutely give him grief about it, but they’re funny.”
