Clip Of Gallen Lo Swaying Awkwardly To Music On Stage Has Netizens Lamenting About Him Becoming A “Dancer For Rich Women”

From the ‘90s to early noughties, Hongkong actor Gallen Lo was undeniably one of the top stars of TVB, but sadly, his star power slowly started to fade after he decided to shift his focus to a career in China.
These days, the 58-year-old, once an in-demand leading man, has been relegated to mostly supporting roles, something that also tragically seemed to apply to one of his latest stage performances... if you can call it that.
Recently, a netizen posted a video of Gallen singing at an event in China… or rather, we reckon he was supposed to be singing.
Joining him on the platform was a well-dressed lady with her own microphone who seemed to want the spotlight all to herself, at least judging from the way she held out her hand to stop Gallen when he was about to open his mouth (see the gif below).
Unsure of what else to do, poor Gallen could only stay silent while continuing to sway awkwardly to the music like some unenthusiastic back-up dancer.
According to reports, the woman is the boss of a medical aesthetics group and is no stranger to engaging male celebs for performances, having invited Justice Bao actor Kenny Ho to a company event in the past.
Still, fans couldn’t help but feel sorry for Gallen and left comments such as: “My heart aches after watching this”, “Stars have become dancers for rich women”, “That woman is grabbing too much of the spotlight”, and “How could she not let him sing even one sentence?”.
Some also wondered if Gallen is so strapped for cash that he still needs to take on jobs like this even though his wife, 47-year-old Chinese actress Su Yan, is known to come from a very wealthy family.
The couple, who has an eight-year-old daughter named Sela, is said to live in a large duplex villa in Beijing that has its own courtyard and is decorated in a “retro European style”.
On the other hand, some “the glass is half full”-type folks opted to look at the situation from a more positive angle, calling Gallen a very “admirable” artiste for still being willing to humble himself and work hard to earn money.
Then again, we’re sure there are many people who wouldn’t mind being paid to just stand there vibing to music while the person who hired them does all the actual work.
