Cyndi Wang & Nicholas Teo’s 2022 Variety Show Reunion Feels Like A Throwback To 2006 When They Starred In Smiling Pasta
Work never ends for Taiwanese star Cyndi Wang, 39.
Immediately after wrapping up the third season of Chinese reality competition Sisters Who Make Waves (which she won, by the way), Cyndi is already hard at work, shooting her next variety show.
The show, titled Stars’ Promise in Chinese, will feature fellow Sisters Who Make Waves contestants Gillian Chung, Charlene Choi, Wu Jinyan and Huang Xiaolei.
Earlier, a netizen posted pictures of the five stars out riding bikes and filming for the show. Said netizen also shared that Taiwanese singer-actor Jiro Wang, 41, was there as well. Cyndi and Jiro starred opposite each other in the 2009 idol drama, Momo Love.
Now, it seems like the show’s next surprise guest has been revealed.

A number of netizens recently took to social media to share pictures of Cyndi, as well as Malaysian singer-actor Nicholas Teo, 40, walking together in Yunnan, China.
On Aug 27, Nicholas also updated his Weibo, with his location revealing that he’s currently in Yunnan, furthering confirming the sightings.
When reached for a comment, however, Nicholas’ management declined to say more, sharing that it wasn’t convenient for them to talk about this matter at the moment.

Cyndi and Nicholas starred together in the 2006 idol drama Smiling Pasta and are said to be very good friends. According to reports, though they have not worked together for many years, they still remain in contact.
In August last year, Cyndi and Nicholas had a ‘virtual reunion’ with Nicholas appearing via a video call during Cyndi’s appearance on variety show Hello Saturday.
Netizens were delighted to see Cyndi and Nicholas together, with many exclaiming that it felt like they’d been transported back to 2006 when Smiling Pasta premiered on screen.
“I can’t believe that I can still see them together again after so many years, who else has had memories of their youth woken up [by these pictures]!” one netizen said, while another declared that they’ll “be the first” to watch the episode when it airs.
