Ex TVB Actress Grace Wong, 35, Chases Dream Of Becoming A Dancer In China, Heartfelt Speech Moves Everyone To Tears

Last December, Grace Wong announced that she's no longer contracted to TVB after 14 years.

The 35-year-old reportedly left the company on a pretty sour note, which left netizens to wonder if she was excluded from the promotional materials of her drama The Righteous Fist on purpose.

Now that she is no longer a TVB artiste, it appears that Grace, who once studied in New York's prestigious National Dance Institute, can concentrate on pursing her dreams in dance.

Back in 2008, she wowed audiences with her dance abilities when she took part and eventually won TVB's celebrity dance competition Strictly Come Dancing.

Apparently, after winning the show, Grace started harbouring thoughts of quitting TVB to pursue a career as a singer-dancer.

However, because she was legally contracted to the broadcaster, her dancing dreams had to take a backseat to her acting career.

Grace later admitted that she was disappointed in her prospects as an actress, and that she felt “sidelined” by the company.

Since leaving TVB, Grace moved to China and is currently participating in Chinese reality dance competition Great Dance Crew, which aims to form China’s new top female dance group.

She is one of the show's most high profile contestants, and in the teaser, is seen moving the judges to tears with an emotional speech.

“I’m already 35 but I still have a dream. But to chase your dreams, as you get older you might become very afraid of taking risks”, said Grace, as tears trickled down her face.

Grace is the only one out of the 60 contestants to be over 30.

Chinese star Wang Fei Fei, who was a member of now-defunct South Korean girl group Miss A and is one of the judges of Great Dance Crew, was very moved by what Grace said and offered her some encouragement

"A dream is very precious. I think the fact that you are here shows a lot of courage", said Fei Fei.
