Exclusive: Mister Donut To Open Permanent S’pore Outlet In Bishan

Last July, American doughnut chain Mister Donut launched a pop-up at Jurong Point as a market test. Despite originating from Boston, the chain is way more famous in Japan, and is headquartered in Osaka. The month-long pop-up sparked massive queues every single day through its run. Mister Donut fans lined up for as long as three hours to get their hands on the sweet rings, which includes the chain’s signature Pon De Ring doughnut.

It is opening a permanent store in Singapore

The brand was brought in by local F&B company RE&S, which runs homegrown Japanese restaurants like Kuriya and Ichiban Boshi here. Due to the strong demand, the company told 8days.sg that it had plans to set up a permanent outlet under a master franchise from Mister Donut’s “Japanese brand partner”.

It will be located in Bishan

RE&S has confirmed that the permanent Mister Donut shop is opening in May 2023 at Bishan’s Junction 8 mall. The menu and prices, as well as the specific location, are yet to be confirmed.

According to RE&S, ingredients used for the doughnuts will be imported from Japan, and staff for the Singapore outlet will be sent to the Mister Donut Academy in Osaka for training before the opening.
