Fann Wong Reveals Why Son Zed Doesn’t Look Enthused In The Pics Celebrating Christopher Lee’s Golden Bell Awards Nomination
She also explains why he's wearing a patch over his glasses.
Congratulations are in order for Christopher Lee. The 50-year-old has been nominated for Best Actor in a Miniseries or Television Film at Taiwan’s 56th Golden Bell Awards for his role as a construction worker in Workers.
The other nominees are An Yuan Liang (Hakka TV Movie: The Child Of Light), Li Lirong (See You, Sir), Liu Kuan-ting (Dear Loneliness), and Tang Chuan (Hakka TV Movie: The Era Where I Live).
After the nominees were announced yesterday (Sep 2), wife Fann Wong, 50, and their seven-year-old son, Zed, took to Instagram to congratulate Chris, who is currently in Taiwan promoting iQiyi drama Danger Zone.
Fann shared three selfies of she and Zed making finger hearts at the camera. However, unlike Fann, who beamed widely in all the pics, Zed appeared less enthused. In fact, he wore a serious expression in one of the selfies.
Turns out that he’s actually “very happy”, but is too shy to show his toothless grin as he’s been losing his baby teeth.
“Our son is very happy, but he insists on not showing his 'innocent and toothless' image. Please slowly feel his inner joy,” said Fann.
Chris later thanked Fann and Zed in the comments section, saying he is very touched .
Zed’s staid expression wasn’t the only thing that stood out in the pics. He also wore a patch over the right lens of his glasses, attracting comments from concerned netizens.
Fann later replied through her manager that Zed has a lazy eye and so needs to wear the patch to correct his vision.
A scroll through Fann’s Instagram shows that he’s been wearing the patch as early as February.
Chris has a good track record at the Golden Bell Awards. In 2014, he won Best Actor for his turn as a workaholic husband fighting to salvage his marriage in the hit family drama A Good Wife.
He was also nominated for Best Actor in Miniseries or Television Film for Forgotten in 2012 and The Long Goodbye in 2017.
