Felix Wong Says He "Was Waiting To Die" After His Wife Passed Away Last Year
The 59-year-old Hongkong actor said he lost all purpose in life after the death of wife, who had been battling leukaemia.
Hongkong actor Felix Wong’s life came crashing down when his wife of 32 years, former actress Leung Kit Wah, passed away last May.
Kit Wah, who was 59, died of organ failure seven years after she was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia.
It's been 13 months since Kit Wah’s death, and Felix is still feeling the pain of losing Kit Wah. The 59-year-old recently shared that it was “heartbreaking” to watch his wife's health deteriorate over the years.
“I prayed for her recovery and [told the heavens] that I would be willing to give up 10, or even 20 years of my life for her (…) She told me that she didn’t want to die, revealed Felix.
After her passing, Felix felt like he had “lost all purpose in life” as his days used to revolve around Kit Wah. He ended up spending weeks hiding in his bathroom and smoking at least one pack of cigarettes a day.
“I used to care for her around the clock,” he said. “I didn’t know what to do with my time. The person I was taking care of wasn’t here any more (…) I understood why there are some who take their own lives after their partners pass away. I felt like I was waiting to die.
Felix eventually came to terms with his wife’s passing and he thanked his friends, along with his daughter, actress Adrian Wong, for staying by his side while he healed.
To those who are going through something similar, Felix had this to say: “You must learn to let go and accept reality.”
