George Lam Recently Offered To Buy Dinner And Had To Call Wife Sally Yeh For Help When He Realised He Had No Money On Him
But why did Sally not show up to help him?
Have you ever had a really good meal and then realised you had no money on you?
Well, this recently happened to 73-year-old veteran Hongkong singer George Lam, according to Chinese singer Zhang Bichen.
Bichen, 32, is currently participating in singing competition Singing With Legends along with George. Also in the show are Taiwanese singers Chyi Chin and Eric Chou, Cantopop diva Miriam Yeung, as well as Chinese singers Joker Xue, Hu Xia and Chui Na Li Sha.
Bichen revealed in an interview that George was so happy one day after filming that he offered to buy his fellow contestants dinner. It was also an early birthday celebration for Chinese actor Sun Honglei.
Teacher George was very happy… he even gave everyone a treat. However, when it was time to pay the bill, he realised he did not have any money on him, so he used his 'old man phone' (mobile phone) to call (his wife, singer) Sally Yeh to pay the bill, but she rejected him, laughed Bichen.
Turns out, the equally forgetful Sally, 60, could not remember the pin number of her ATM card, so she couldn’t withdraw any money for him.
In the end, Bichen and Chyi Chin had to foot the bill first.
