Gillian Chung's Ex-Husband Michael Lai, 32, Reportedly Dating Dazzling Cafe Founder Janet Yang, 46
Guess he’s moved on from his failed marriage to the Hongkong star.
In the months after his very public divorce from Hongkong singer-actress Gillian Chung, 40, last May, Taiwanese doctor Michael Lai was described as the heartbroken ex. Unsurprising because the 32-year-old had revealed in interviews about how “devastated” he was that Gillian, who reportedly initiated the split, “no longer loved him”.
The cosmetologist even described himself as “rejected goods” and also expressed relief that he didn't buy her a S$4.8mil house.
But it appears that he has all but moved on from his failed marriage.
On Chinese Valentine's Day, Michael posted this picture (see above) of him with his mum and dad and a mystery woman, whose face was hidden by a peach emoji.
Though the post was to wish his father a happy birthday, netizens said that the fact that he had included the mystery woman in a family gathering must mean she's someone special to him.
And netizens and the press are guessing that the woman is socialite and Dazzling Cafe founder Janet Yang, 46.
Last September, rumours that Michael and Janet were dating started to circulate after he posted an IG story of her in his car along with the caption, “Thx for taking care of my babe”.
The rumours fizzled out after a while as there had been no update from both Michael and Janet... until now.
Taiwanese media outlets noted that the mystery woman in Michael’s photo has a similar hair length and build as Janet. They also said that Michael’s post could mean that the couple's relationship is getting serious.
Janet was married for five years to businessman Steven Chien, 44, with whom she has seven-year-old twins boys. She announced in 2019 that they had gotten a divorce a year earlier.
