Glenn Yong Files Police Report Against Anonymous Hater Spreading Lies About Him For 5 Months
Now this is crazy.
Earlier last week, local actor Glenn Yong, 25, took to his Instagram Story to call out a particular individual, who’s been busy spreading lies and falsehoods about him.
According to Glenn, that "someone" would track his following list on IG "every single day”.
Then, the person would proceed to either Direct Message or leave a comment on the posts of whomever Glenn follows, to spread lies about the actor.
"This person would say things like: 'Oh do you know Glenn hates you/talks shit about you' etc etc (sic) when none of this happened,” wrote Glenn.
"I'm still trying to wrap my mind around this, because it seems like this person is outrightly trying to destroy my friendships and relationships with the people around me for whatever reason,” he added.
When 8days.sg caught up with Glenn over a phone call on Friday night, the actor revealed more about this truly bizarre situation.
Enough of these lies!
According to the actor, he first noticed the actions of this hater around “November or December” last year.
"I started seeing a few spam accounts that would comment on my page and the content that this person was saying was pretty similar, so it's quite obvious that it's all from the same person. Subsequently, it led to this person DM-ing some of my friends,” said Glenn.
The actor added that he believes the person uses "around five to six burner accounts” to slander him.
Glenn went on to share that the hater appeared to want to sow discord between him and his friends.
"It's happened to different groups of friends, and every single time when I follow a new friend, this person will DM them. And if it's a girl, there will be a DM, saying things like 'Did Glenn sleep with you?’ It's creepy,” said Glenn.
Apart from his friends, people whom Glenn knows in the media, like his Live Your Dreams co-stars, people from director Jack Neo’s production house, J Team Productions, as well as PR agencies and Mediacorp staff, have also received messages from the hater.

The insidious DMs weren't just sent to his friends and colleagues. The hater also managed to find out the social media accounts of Glenn’s older brother and mother.
"[The person] would accuse me of things to my mum, like 'Did you know your son has one night stands with people in the car you drive’. It's crazy! This person actually revealed what colour my car is and all, and it showed me that him or her might actually be close to me,” he said.
"From what the person described, it's probably someone who knows me personally. It’s not like it's some crazy fan or whatever,” said Glenn, adding: "I might have an idea of who this person is, but I don't know [for sure] yet.”
Glenn then told 8days.sg that he had gone to the police station to file a report after our chat. He also said that he intends to seek legal counsel, to see if he can take any legal action.
“The main message I want to bring across is... I want this person and anyone else who uses anonymous accounts to harass people online to know that they will face consequences at the end of the day and will not get away with it,” he said.
