Him Law Explains Why He & Wife Tavia Yeung Slept In Separate Rooms While Filming Modern Dynasty In China
Hongkong actors Him Law and Tavia Yeung surprised everyone when they announced the birth of their second child in December, having hitherto kept quiet about Tavia’s second pregnancy. What they were more forthcoming about: they were sleeping in separate rooms while filming the drama Modern Dynasty in China in March (er, you can do the math).
The couple was working in Shenzhen filming Modern Dynasty, where Him played Tavia’s brother-in-law who was married to her best friend, Rain Li. They were each offered their own rooms by the production team.
Exclaimed Him Law to Hongkong media, “They prepared huge and comfortable rooms for each of us and asked if we were going to take one or both rooms. I told [Tavia], ‘If they’re offering two, then we should take two!’”

Sleeping in different rooms didn't get in the way of baby making
The considerate husband added that another reason for sleeping apart is that they usually had different call times, and he didn’t want to disturb her rest on days when she could sleep in. “Some days I had to get up earlier to get my hair and make-up done, and I would have disturbed her if we were in the same room,” he reasoned. “By having rooms of our own, we could both get enough rest.”
Him also gushed about the “great” work schedules in China as they “only had to film for 12 hours” a day, which meant that they could go on impromptu dates once filming wrapped for the day. Guess that’s good for family planning too?
