HK Instagrammers Set Up Mahjong Table On MTR Train & Confused Passengers

‘Pong’ is not just the sound of the train hitting the track.

Hong Kong’s MTR passengers were confused by an inexplicable sight on Oct 13, when five Instagrammers set up a mahjong table on the train and started playing a round.

Their journey would have taken about 15 minutes, which is barely enough time for a mahjong round. So we guess it was all just for the ‘gram.

One of the Instagrammers posted a video clip of their stunt, in which passengers were staring confusedly in the background at the mahjong setup. He captioned the video with: “When are we eating hotpot?”

HK01 reported that MTR Corp has launched an investigation into the incident while also urging people to refrain from disturbing other passengers and keep train carriages unobstructed. This is one instance where it’s appropriate to say “please try this at home”.
