Huang Xiaoming Apologises To His Driver Of 17 Years For Having To Spend His Birthday In A Van Every Year

Netizens are now calling Chinese actor Huang Xiaoming “the most considerate boss” after he organised a surprise birthday party for his driver of 17 years, a man he affectionately calls Uncle Liu.

In a video posted on Jan 2, the 44-year-old star appeared on the steps of his camper van holding a tiered cake and singing the birthday song.

The camera then panned to a confused-looking Uncle Liu, who was then asked by Xiaoming to make a wish before blowing out the candles.

    Surprise!

    Surprise!

Uncle Liu quipped that there was no need for a birthday wish as he was “happy even without making one” thanks to Xiaoming’s thoughtfulness.

The actor then whipped out a brand new Huawei phone, which he promptly handed over to Uncle Liu.

In the video, Xiaoming also apologised to Uncle Liu for “always making him spend his birthdays in the camper van for more than 10 years”.

When Uncle Liu offered Xiaoming a piece of cake, the actor declined to eat it because he's still on a strict diet. Maybe he would consider taking a bite if it's a tofu cake.

Xiaoming did, however, lick some of the frosting at Uncle Liu’s insistence.

Netizens have praised both Xiaoming and Uncle Liu for their “adorable friendship”, adding that “it’s rare for a boss and his employee to get along so well”.

Some jokingly asked if “Xiaoming is hiring because [they] want to work with such a nice boss too”.
