Ikea Restaurant Launches $14.90 Lobster Laksa Pasta & Meat-Free ‘Meatballs’
Good deal for half a lobster.
Everyone knows that Ikea Restaurant is famous for its Swedish meatballs, but here’s a good time to try something else on its menu. Its all-new $14.90 Lobster Laksa Spaghetti, featuring half a crustacean. The dish is a part of a limited-edition menu by Ikea Singapore. The new items were quietly launched two days ago at the furniture giant’s two cafes and listed on its local website, with not a peep on social media. We reached out to Ikea’s PR rep and were told that more details will be revealed soon. Meanwhile, here’s a look at the offerings.
Are these more like American-style buffalo wings, or Korean fried chicken? Your guess is as good as ours. But these crispy-looking babies slathered in sauce are on sale till 31 March.
These appear to be the vegetarian version of Ikea’s well-loved Swedish meatballs ($8.50 for 12 pcs). But unlike the carnivorous version served with mashed potatoes and broccoli, this comes with couscous and sour cream. Available till 31 May.
No word from Ikea’s PR reps on where this lobster is from, what type of lobster it is, whether it’s frozen or deets on its size/weight. However, we see that it has claws similar to a Boston lobster. As a rough comparison, a whole live lobster at Pince & Pints costs $48 and $65 at Burger & Lobster. Ikea’s offering seems to be steamed or boiled, then slathered with laksa sauce atop spaghetti and broccoli florets. Pretty sweet deal for $14.90. Available till 31 May.
