'I’m more concerned about [my son] than you': Louis Cheung tells off netizens who question him for letting his 16-year-old son lift weights

When you’re a celebrity, everything you do is up for scrutiny.

Take Hong Kong actor Louis Cheung, 43, for example. He recently took to Instagram to post about working out with his 16-year-old son James in their home gym.

In his post, which featured a snap of a shirtless James from the back, Louis wrote: "Finally willing to work out with dad!"

He must have also gotten quite a few disapproving comments from some concerned individuals about how James is too young to weight train.

Shortly after the post went up, Louis wrote this in the comments section:
“Every time there is a post about the kids, there are bound to be comments from friends from the 'Childcare Management Team'. Thank you for your concern! As a father, he is my child, I am more concerned about him than you. Anyways, there are different training levels when it comes to doing fitness. Whether or not it affects the development of kids, there is countless information on the internet, you can check it out for yourself. For young people, doing proper weight training and ensuring the correct posture are helpful for growth."

His response earned praise from his followers, who chided netizens for overreacting.

"What’s up with the Childcare Management Team? You are just gymming with your son, not telling him to take drugs," said a fan. Another wrote: "The essence of fitness is to maintain good health, don't bother about the Childcare Management Team."

Besides James, Louis and wife, Cantopop singer Kay Tse, 46, also have a six-year-old daughter Karina.
