Insta-Buzz: What The Stars Were Up To This Week

There were so many reunions this week.

We had visits from former artistes who are now based abroad, a CNY celebration with a much-beloved on-screen family, as well as the birth of the "The Unlikely Trio". Read on to find out who's part of the threesome.

Yep, this is "The Unlikely Trio", as Taufik Batisah put it

Though Kit Chan's not in the photo (Rui En shared that the singer wasn't feeling up for a photo), the trio still had loads of fun together. Taufik christened them the unlikely trio in his comment, while Kit joked: "I fainted by the way side when I witnessed your collective gorgeousness! So please forgive my absence in the photo. Love [you] guys!"

Is it too much to wish for a musical collaboration between the three of them?

And now, here comes the reunions...

First we had Yvonne Lim, who's currently appearing in Strike Gold, and her family grabbing dinner with local screen-goddesses Phyllis Quek, Aileen Tan, Candyce Toh, Carole Lin and Huang Biren...

Catch Strike Gold on Channel 8 on weekdays, 9pm, or catch it on meWATCH below:

Even more reunions...

And then we had Zeng Guocheng with more local stars, including Jeff Wang and Florence Tan, who are now based in Taiwan and Hong Kong respectively. They even celebrated Guocheng's birthday together.

Oh, and we spotted Christopher Lee, Chen Xiuhuan, Hong Huifang, Zheng Geping, Terence Cao and Dawn Yeoh (not pictured) too.

(P.S: The Taiwanese host was in town to perform in a Mandarin retelling of Yasmina Reza's 1994 play "Art." )

Say hello to the Star Search buds

Qi Yuwu and Jeff Wang both competed in Star Search 1999 together, with Jeff clinching overall male champion, while Yuwu was the male champion for China.

And of course, Yuwu paid homage to their iconic skit as a tree spirit and crab pair in the finals of Star Search, joking that his tree spirit self would like to wish crab-Jeff a happy new year.

The 118 family got back together again

It's no secret that the 118 cast are really close, so it only makes sense that they'll meet up again for CNY right? As Pan Lingling put it in her caption, they're a family after all.

Zhang Zhenhuan's son Miro explored Singapore

The three-year-old's actor dad might not be in Singapore yet (he shared with 8days.sg the reason why he's still in China in a recent interview), but that doesn't mean he can't enjoy his time here, right?

Look at this adorable shot of Miro on a bus, taken by his influencer mum, who shared that he really likes public buses.

"I think I made mum very happy by flying back to Singapore from Tokyo and joining her for CNY visits!" Sharon wrote in her caption, adding: "I love you mum. Please stay healthy for me please!"

Desmond Tan gave out ang pows to fellow celebs

Looks like it's not just James Seah who's giving out ang pows for the first time this year.  Sheryl Ang and Chantalle Ng were the 'lucky ones' this week, having gotten their ang pows from Desmond. Nice!

Rui En and her fanclub did some community service to mark the star's birthday

"Our member volunteers visited the elderly who live alone to wish them Happy New Year and present some daily necessities," the fanclub shared in an Instagram post, revealing that they've been doing so for the past 13 years.

Chen Yixin and Eleanor Lee were "tourists" in Singapore

"Missed you like crazy. Love shopping with you, hate that we enable each other that much but we’re young right," Eleanor wrote in her caption, going on to reveal that the duo decided to play tourist for a day, by putting on "British and Aussie accents" while shopping.
