James Wen & Sonia Sui Reunite 11 Years After Starring In Hit Taiwanese Drama The Fierce Wife
Fans of the series want to see them star in another drama together, this time with a happy ending.
It’s been 11 years since The Fierce Wife-fever swept across Asia.
The Taiwanese drama starred Taiwanese supermodel Sonia Sui as a devoted housewife whose philandering husband (played by James Wen) divorces her to be with a younger woman ( Amanda Chu). (P/S: The Fierce Wife was such a big hit, it even popularised the term 'xiao san', which basically means a woman who has an affair with a married man.)
While James' character eventually hankered for a reconciliation with his ex-wife, a movie sequel to the drama two years later, saw Sonia's character falling in love with her boss played by Chris Wang.
On October 4, James posted a recent selfie taken with Sonia, along with this caption: “Who says we can’t be friends after breaking up?” He also added the show’s title, the names of their characters names and the phrase 'we can go back' in the hashtags.
