Jessi, Kim Jung Eun said to be among K-celebs affected by plastic surgery clinic’s CCTV leak
According to Korean media outlets, a well-known plastic surgery clinic in South Korea’s glitzy Gangnam district has come under fire after it was discovered that footage from their CCTV cameras was leaked and posted online.
The footage was made available online on March 6, with the clinic making a police report soon after. According to the authorities, the footage was obtained from an IP camera that was installed in a consultation room at the clinic.
Unlike traditional CCTV cameras, IP cameras broadcast all footage that it captures online to a server. This means that footage can be viewed in real-time remotely.
Unfortunately, it appears that the connection was hijacked by a hacker, who then made the footage available for everyone to view.
Footage showing the faces of the customers clearly were uploaded.
The videos, which total about 1.5GB, was purportedly taken over the span of a few days at the end of February, and shows about 30 customers consulting clinic staff. The faces of the customers are fully exposed, with a few unnamed sources claiming that footage of the customers undressing was leaked as well.
The 2nd Cyber Investigation Unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency has shared that they are currently investigating how the footage was leaked.
In 2021, South Korean lawmakers passed a bill mandating the presence of cameras in operating theatres for plastic surgery clinics, after a series of medical accidents involving unqualified staff who stood in for surgeons.

Netizens who viewed the leaked footage revealed that a couple of celebs were seen in the footage, with Korean singer Jessi, 34, and actress Kim Jung Eun, 49, named.
Both stars have openly admitted to going under the knife. In Jessi’s case, the singer shared that she regretted going for plastic surgery, and that she only did so after her previous company “strongly suggested” it to her.
As for Jung Eun, some netizens have speculated that she could have been receiving a consultation for a revision surgery to address some issues that might have emerged as she aged.
