Kai Ko, 30, Is Super Angry About Being Banned From Tinder

At this point, we won't blame you for asking 'Kai who?'

The Taiwanese actor shot to fame in 2011 and even won a Golden Horse award that same year, but his 2014 weed-smoking scandal has unfortunately hung around like a smelly cloud that won't go away.

To this day netizens in China still refer to him as 'Kai Ko the druggie'. Here in Singapore we're a bit kinder — no name-calling, but then again we don't recognise him on our streets, at least that's what Kai claims, so basically he has zero brand recall here.

Now the latest slap in the face is this: Even Tinder doesn't want to know him.

On Monday, an irate Kai posted a screenshot from his Tinder account on his Instagram Stories. (See below)

He had been banned because '(his) Tinder profile... (violated their) Terms of Use'.

'WTF', Kai wrote in bold red letters. For good measure, he also tagged two of the dating app's official accounts (Tinder and Tinder Taiwan), as if to say 'I am flagging this for your attention! You should know who I am! Fix this!'

According to Kai's manager, they still do not know the official reason for him being banned from Tinder.

Now we've reviewed Tinder's community guidelines, and they have policies on lots of things including (but not limited to) nudity/sexual content, harrassment, or even promotion or solicitation.

A user's offline behaviour can also be grounds for termination, although there was no mention of marijuana consumption, whether past or present. Inactivity for two years might also result in deletion.

Given Kai's A-list status on his home turf and his active dating life in real life, we find the latter to be the most plausible reason for him being booted off the platform. But then again...

We're sure that this was just a blip, and that this nice young man will soon be reinstated. The real question we're left with is: What was he doing on Tinder in the first place... and why does he want it back? Hmmm.
