Kim Lim’s Engagement Ring Apparently Costs As Much As An "HDB Flat" & 4 Other Massive Celeb Engagement Rings

Singaporean heiress and aesthetics clinic boss Kim Lim ended September in the best way possible, with her announcing her engagement to a man, who we hear is Kim's long time friend .

Social media has been abuzz about the identity of the 30-year-old’s fiancé, along with how massive the round cut diamond on her ring is. We mean, just look at the size of that thing.

Influencer Wendy Cheng, better known as Xiaxue, posted an IG story following Kim's big announcement. She wrote: “Me asking [Kim] how much is the ring and my reply to her answer is: “you wearing a HDB flat on your finger (sic)”.

A two-room flexi flat costs S$89K on average, while a five-room flat costs upwards of S$350K.

This will be the second marriage for Kim, who is the daughter of billionaire Peter Lim. Kim and her ex-husband Kho Bin Kai were married from 2017 to 2020. Their son Kyden is now four.

With Kim’s engagement and her giant diamond ring becoming the talk of the town, here are four equally massive (and expensive) engagement rings other celebs have sported over the years.

The eldest daughter of the late casino tycoon Stanley Ho and his fourth wife Angela Leong, Sabrina got engaged to then-21-year-old Harvard student Thomas Xin in 2019. Thomas gifted Sabrina this ring, which is said to be over five carats.

Angelababy flexed her engagement to Huang Xiaoming, 43, in 2015 by posting a pic of her envy-inducing Chaumet Joséphine Aigrette Impériale ring.

Featuring a 5.53 carat pear-shaped diamond surrounded by 73 brilliant-cut diamonds, the stunner is said to be worth over US$1.6mil (S$2.1mil).

In 2017, Taiwanese actress Ady An's now-husband tycoon Levo Chen proposed to her with this 10.57 carat ring. Designed by Taiwanese jeweller Cindy Chao, the size of the diamond is said to signify that Ady is the perfect wife . The ring reportedly costs more than HK$10mil (S$1.74mil).

Are we surprised to see another one of Stanley Ho's scions make this list? Not at all.

This time it's Stanley's youngest son Mario, who got engaged to Chinese supermodel Ming Xi in 2019 in epic fashion.

Mario, who is also Kim Lim's ex-boyfriend, booked out three levels of Shanghai’s L’Avenue Mall, which he decorated with 99,999 roses. He then proposed to Ming Xi with this 10-carat diamond ring.
