Li Yapeng Kisses 15-Year-Old Daughter’s Thigh During Live Stream; Netizens Call It “Disgusting” & Inappropriate
How chummy do you have to get with your kid for it to be considered inappropriate?
It’s always lovely to see fathers behaving affectionately towards their little girls, but some netizens are saying that Chinese actor-turned-businessman Li Yapeng, 49, took it a little too far with Li Yan, his 15-year-old daughter with his pop diva ex-wife Faye Wong, 52.
Last Friday (Aug 27), Yapeng started a live stream that showed him approaching Li Yan, who was chilling on the sofa in a pair of shorts, and saying that he wanted to discuss something with her.
Li Yan then responded like a typical teenager, making fun of her dad for his “poor acting skills”. Well, it has been many years since he retired from showbiz.
Undeterred by his kid’s ruthless remark, Yapeng proceeded to sit down next to Li Yan and — here begins the part that’s making some netizens uncomfortable — rest his forehead on her thigh.
Yapeng then told Li Yan that he plans to post three videos a week but is feeling a little stressed out about it, so he asked if she could help by contributing a few clips. Li Yan just stayed silent and continued scrolling through her phone.
Still unwilling to give up, Yapeng decided to take the cutesy and clingy route — at least, that’s what it looked like to us — by shaking her leg repeatedly with his wrist to get her attention (see the gif below).
He stopped at one point and appeared to leave a kiss on her thigh.
While it could be argued that this video simply showed some very endearing father-daughter interactions between the pair, a lot of folks found Yapeng’s actions to be inappropriate and “disgusting”.
Disapproving comments include: “This is the first time I’ve seen a father kissing his daughter’s thigh”, “This display makes me uncomfortable”, and “A father should avoid doing anything that may arouse suspicion when his daughter is already 15 years old and all grown up”.
On the other hand, there were those who expressed their support for Yapeng, gushing over his “good relationship” with Li Yan and the fact that they clearly seem to “get along like friends”.
