Little Tigers' Julian Chen, 51, Made At Least S$60K Just To Bring Out A Birthday Cake At A Chinese Influencer’s Party

Anyone who grew up in the ‘80s and ‘90s would be familiar with Taiwanese actor Julian Chen, 51, who was a member of immensely popular boyband Little Tigers.

Julian, who is now based in China, saw his popularity skyrocket after participating in talent competition Shine! Super Brothers

One would think he could afford to be more picky about his gigs now... but that did not appear to be the case.

Julian was recently spotted at a social media influencer’s dinner party, which she had organised in honour of her mother’s birthday.

But Julian wasn't there to perform. Not even close.

All he did was to push a cart with the birthday cake on it.

Yup, you read that right. Julian's job was just to present the cake.

He didn't even say anything and just stood behind the influencer when she gave her speech. In fact, some netizens even thought Julian was one of the staff.

He also didn't interact with the birthday girl and left about an hour into the party.

Can you spot Julian?

Julian’s appearance at the party sparked discussion online.

“Although he is getting paid quite a bit, isn’t it embarrassing for him to just be pushing the cake out”, “Shouldn’t the famous Little Tiger at least be the main guest of the party?” and “He seems to be having a hard time,” were just some of the comments from confused netizens.

Others, however, were more understanding of the situation and backed Julian up, saying that he was just earning his keep and it was good that he wasn’t “stealing, robbing, or scamming” others for money.

According to reports, Julian’s asking price for appearing events starts from S$60K, which was probably at least what he made for his brief appearance at the party.
