Louis Koo Gave His Lookalike Jason Wong $9K After Learning He Was Badly Slashed By An Attacker In Shenzhen

On Aug 29, Hong Kong actor Jason Wong, 44, was slashed by an unnamed assailant at fellow actor Frankie Ng's restaurant in Shenzhen, suffering serious injuries to his face, left arm and waist.

At that time, Jason said he did not offend anyone and he believed the incident was an "innocent disaster".

According to reports, Jason underwent a six-hour long operation and had over 100 stitches. After the procedure, he said he developed a fear of looking in the mirror and needed to see a psychologist to help him get past the trauma.

On Sun (Sep 11), Jason, who is back in Hong Kong already, issued a statement to thank everyone for their concern.

Jason is now back in Hong Kong and receiving treatment. It's not known if his face has been scarred in the incident.

Jason is still in pain

Jason really wishes to thank Louis and Frankie for their help

Jason said his trip home was made possible by the Hong Kong Immigration Department, and that he is currently recovering in Tuen Mun Hospital.

Jason then took the chance to thank Frankie for his help.

"During this period, I am most grateful to Brother B (Frankie) for taking care of me. When the incident happened that day, Brother B bravely caught the perpetrator on the spot without caring for his own safety. He also escorted me to the hospital, and was responsible for my medical expenses in Shenzhen. I am deeply grateful to Brother B for his kindness to me."

Previously, the actor revealed in an interview that the assailant had attacked him after mistaking him for someone else. Thankfully, Frankie managed to pin down the attacker and called the police for help.

Jason also expressed his gratitude towards Louis Koo for his compassion during this trying period. Jason is often called a 'Louis Koo knockoff' by the media as he bears more than a passing resemblance to the A-list actor.

Apparently, after Louis found out about the attack, he immediately sent Jason HK$50K (S$8.9K) to help with the medical costs and has also been checking in on him regularly ever since.
