Love 972 DJ Kenneth Kong’s Gory Death Scene In When Duty Calls 2 Has Something To Do With Local Singer A-Do

Though Love 972 DJ Kenneth Kong's appearance in the 12th episode of Mediacorp drama When Duty Calls 2 was only for a brief 30 seconds, it was impactful enough.

And over on Instagram, the 42-year-old DJ gave us another peek into his time on-set complete with a closer look at the gory details.

Kenneth plays the late father of Tyler Ten's character and whose death decades ago had (spoiler alert!) a lot to do with Pierre Png’s character.

Watch out, Mr Chan!

“It’s been so long since I took part in a drama. This time round in When Duty Calls 2, I play someone who’s an upright person, and yet, suffered from an early death. I appear in the 12th, 13th, and 14th episode,” Kenneth wrote.

“My first time applying special-effects make-up, my first time needing a stunt double, and my first time lying underneath a car,” the jock added.

Or in Kenneth's case, underneath a lorry?

He then went on to reference local singer A-Do’s classic song, ‘He Must Really Love You’, quoting a line from the song.

“‘Cos I feel like… I should be underneath the car, not inside it,” Kenneth wrote.

Geddit?

Hey, even though he’s on TV now, Kenneth will not forget his radio roots, okay?

A TV moment.

Netizens and celebs alike were equal parts amazed at how realistic the special effects make-up looked, and tickled pink by Kenneth’s wit.

“The riddle has finally been resolved!” Nick Teo laughed in his comment, while Chen Xi opted for a simple: WA!! (sic)”.

One netizen even jokingly asked: “Did A-Do show up to save you?”
