McDonald’s S’pore Launching Pokémon Pikachu Carrier

In 2018, McDonald’s Singapore caused a frenzy when they launched a $7.90 My Melody carrier. The plastic bucket, in the shape of Sanrio’s cute rabbit character, could be strapped to the back of a car seat while securely holding your McDonald’s meal.

The next year, McDonald’s released a Hello Kitty carrier which also sold out very quickly and spawned long queues.

Here’s the 2022 carrier

The carrier is back for 2022, and the latest edition is… Pikachu! 8days.sg spotted a sign advertising the carrier, which is launching next week on Sept 8.

According to McDonald’s staff, the carrier “looks like the Hello Kitty, My Melody carriers”, which is to say that the Pokémon carrier will be shaped like Pikachu’s head.

Each customer is limited to one carrier with every purchase of a McDonald’s meal. It’s still unknown how much the carrier will cost, but we wouldn’t be surprised if it appears on Carousell at scalpers’ prices for those who want to catch ’em all.

Pokémon-themed menu items

Just today the fast food giant has also launched special menu items with Pokémon-themed packaging, which includes the comeback McPepper burger in a Charizard wrapper, Eevee Pulut Hitam Pie and Teh C Frappé in Pikachu and Scorbunny cups. The Pikachu Teh C Frappé is every bit as adorable as we expected. And so is the Eevee Pulut Hitam Pie.

The Charizard McPepper burger, however, looks kinda like it had an encounter with the fire Pokémon.
