Mediacorp Host Seow Sin Nee Says She Gets Recognised At Weddings And Funerals 'Cos It's Full Of "Uncle Auntie Ah Ma"

It’s an unlikely combination, but for Mediacorp artiste Seow Sin Nee, 26, “weddings and funerals” are where she’s most likely to get recognised as a celeb.

And it’s not ‘cos of the event itself. Rather, it’s cos these places tend to be full of uncles and aunties.

Sin Nee officially joined showbiz two years ago after taking part in the radio DJ talent search, The Soundmakers 2019. She then went on to win talent search competition Beyond The Camera.

Since then, she has been making her mark as a host on various shows, including bite-sized Mediacorp infotainment series #JustSwipeLah and The Sheng Siong Show.

She also recently landed a role on an upcoming Mediacorp drama, where she’ll make her acting debut.

On Dec 15, she shared this snippet of a WhatsApp conversation she had with her elder sister on her IG Story.



Celeb sighting alert!

According to Sin Nee, her sister was curious to find out if Sin Nee gets recognised when she takes the MRT.

And here’s Sin Nee’s answer: “When I attend weddings and funerals, I would be recognised. ‘Cos it’s full of uncle auntie [and] ahma (sic).”



Glass half full kinda situation

That’s not all. Apart from pinpointing the demographic that’s the most likely to recognise her, Sin Nee followed with this self-deprecating jab at herself.

“They would all say: ‘Wow, you look really round on-screen.’ I then tell them that their TVs at home are too big. But they still say: ‘No, no, [the TVs] in the office are smaller.”

Ouch. But hey, some recognition is better than no recognition at all… right?
