Pan Lingling & Huang Shinan’s Younger Son Enlists For NS; Has His Dad As His “Barber”
New year, new celeb sons heading off to Tekong for their very own Ah Boys To Men experience.
On Jan 6, Pan Lingling, 51, shared on Instagram that her younger son with former actor Huang Shinan, Kynaston, 19, had enlisted for national service (NS).
"Today, my little giant joined the army!” she wrote, sharing a couple of pictures of her and Shinan with Kynaston outside a military camp. (P/S: According to an interview with Lingling in 2020, Kynaston is 1.9m tall so yes, little giant is about right.)
"Due to the epidemic, we couldn’t go to Tekong Island to send him off for his enlistment. I thought I could only take him to the door of the camp and had to drive away immediately! However, the military department arranged for us to take a picture with our son at another entrance,” she shared.

Farewell for now
And though this is the second time she’s had to send her son off for their enlistment (Lingling and Shinan’s elder son, Beckham, 22, ORD-ed in June last year), Lingling couldn’t help but get emotional after bidding Kynaston farewell.
"Originally, I thought I would be quite restrained about children joining the army! But now, I want to share it with everyone, I suddenly miss him so much!” she wrote.

No more hair
Lingling also shared a couple of videos and a picture of Kynaston’s "barber", aka Shinan, shaving his head bald before his enlistment.
A number of celebs left comments on Lingling’s post wishing Kynaston well, including Fann Wong, Aileen Tan, Zoe Tay and Huang Biren.
