Photos Of TVB Actor Mat Yeung In Prison Shared Online

Photos of TVB actor Mat Yeung serving time in Stanley Prison have been shared online.

The 41-year-old, who was sentenced to 18 days in jail for drink driving, was photographed making his way back to his cell after a visitation from his girlfriend, Hongkong-based Malaysian actress Lisa Ch’ng, 35, on New Year’s Day.

In the pics, Mat is seen wearing a brown prison uniform and a face mask. According to Oriental Daily, he appeared to be in good spirits.

When reporters approached Lisa to find out how Mat was coping, she declined to comment, only wishing them a Happy New Year.

According to reports, Mat was held at the Lai Chi Kok Correctional Institution for eight days before being transferred to Stanley Prison on Dec 29.

He is only allowed two visitations during his incarceration and is slated to be released on Sunday (Jan 8).

Mat was arrested on August 8 2020, after crashing his Mercedes-Benz into two curb barriers in the Mid Levels area in Hong Kong.

Last November, he was sentenced to 18 days in jail, suspended from driving for two years and handed a HK$3,000 (S$520) fine for driving while intoxicated. He was previously arrested for a DUI in 2005.

Mat began serving his jail sentence on December 22 after his appeal against his sentence was rejected.
