Seinfeld To Stream On Netflix In October
Netflix paid US$500 million-plus for the rights to the show about nothing back in 2019.
Seinfeld is set to hit Netflix in October.
In 2019, the streaming service forked out US$500 million (S$673 mil)-plus for the rights to Seinfeld in a five-year deal with Sony Pictures Television, which controls the distribution of the iconic sitcom.
Back then, the show was still under a deal with Hulu (inked in 2015), where it has stayed through the middle of this year.
Seinfeld was created by Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David, and the series — which ran for nine seasons and 180 episodes from July 1989 to May 1998 — also starred Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Michael Richards and Jason Alexander.
The show won 10 Emmys, including three Best Supporting Comedy Actor trophies for Richards, a Best Supporting Actress statue for Louis-Dreyfus, and a Best Comedy Series honour in 1993.
