The man had apparently ordered butter toast, which usually comes with a thick pat of butter that melts into freshly toasted bread. But in the photos, the poker-faced man was shown holding two pieces of toast topped with puny butter sticks.

In the post, netizen Bradley tagged Old Town White Coffee Malaysia, declaring: “You just ruined Malaysia’s most classic breakfast.” After squinting at the photos, we thought we could also see a smear of kaya, but it is unclear whether that is just melted butter (Bradley did not specify whether the man ordered kaya butter toast in his post).

Netizens joked that it was actually French fries

As the puny butter sticks were shaped like petite crinkle-cut fries, netizens made jokes like “bro, you got french fries in your bread” and “this is really economical”. Another more optimistic commenter opined: “This is probably better for health.” Old Town White Coffee Malaysia has not responded to the post.
