Simon Yam Does Not Like To Be Asked If His 17-Year-Old Daughter Has A Boyfriend

Every dad dreads the day his baby girl grows up and starts dating.

Just ask Simon Yam who didn't care to hide his displeasure when reporters questioned him about his 17-year-old daughter Ella's relationship status at a recent event.

Ella was recently spotted with a guy, sparking dating rumours

Ella was recently photographed out and about with a male friend, and that led the media to speculate that she’s got herself a boyfriend.

Simon quickly shot down the rumour, saying : “She was with a few of her male classmates that day. I know all of them ‘cos they grew up with her. One of their classmate’s birthday [is coming up] so they went to buy a present together. It was just a normal outing.”

He also emphasised that “school comes first” for Ella, and that he hasn’t thought about the requirements that he’d like his future son-in-law to have.

Simon revealed that he often chats with Ella about “school, sports and [her] friends”, and that she’s also told him about the boys that tried to woo her.

However, his patience wore thin and he finally snapped when reporters asked if he would feel jealous when Ella has a boyfriend.

“She’s not [dating anyone],” he shot back. “School comes first for her.”
