Sisley Choi Was Once Offered S$354,000 To Spend Time With Someone
The tabloid magnet also opened up about being romantically linked to 15 men in seven years.
It’s common for celebrities to be caught up in numerous dating rumours, but it’s been extra intense for Hongkong actress Sisley Choi, 30.
Ever since the former Miss Hongkong runner-up and this year’s TVB Anniversary Awards Best Actress winner began her acting career in 2014, she’s been romantically linked to as many as 15 men, including stars like Him Law, Ruco Chan, Vincent Wong, and Tony Hung.
As you can probably imagine, this hasn’t exactly been the most flattering for her reputation, and people soon branded Sisley as being part of a “new generation of sluts”.
Naturally, Sisley isn’t at all happy with this nasty description, as she revealed during her appearance on TVB variety show Mean Talk.
That said, she believes the rumours could’ve been sparked ‘cos she didn’t know how to be cautious of her actions during her early years in showbiz.
While most female celebs try to avoid interacting too much with their male co-stars in order to avoid whispers, Sisley did no such thing, hence all the dating speculations.
“I’ll just take it as a lesson learned,” she said.
Another piece of gossip that was brought up by host Elena Kong involved Sisley’s “sudden wealth”, as ‘evidenced’ by her recent “multimillion-dollar” splurges on a new car and new house.
This time, it was the other two guests, singer Stephanie Ho and actress Winki Lai, who stepped in to clear the air, explaining that Sisley's current financial situation is only possible due to her extreme thriftiness.
Elena’s co-host Bob Lam agreed, saying that before Sisley changed her car, he once saw her driving a vehicle that was “so cheap, its scrap value couldn’t have been more than HK$3,000 or HK$4,000 (S$520 or S$690)”.
Their words brought tears to Sisley’s eyes. She said that she’s someone who has never bothered making clarifications no matter what the media wrote about her, and that she’s only focused on doing her job all along.
“No one knows that this so-called leading lady lives in a 200 sq ft (about 19 sqm) room with a bunk bed,” she shared.
In other news, Sisley, Stephanie, and Winki opened up about the practice of people paying actresses money to spend time with them.
Sisley even whipped out her phone to show everyone a message she had received the day before enquiring about her ‘price’, revealing that the highest amount she’s been offered was HK$2mil (S$346,000).
