Taiwanese singer Eric Chou announces he's going to be a father 6 months after getting engaged
Well, that was fast. Just six months after getting engaged, Taiwanese singer Eric Chou, 27, and former Sanlih Entertainment Television (SET) newscaster Dacie Chao, 33, are expecting their first child.
Eric made the surprise announcement on his socials yesterday (Mar 30), declaring he’s the “luckiest guy in the world”.
“I have the most amazing wife, and now we are happy to announce a baby is on the way! Words can’t describe my excitement. I can’t wait to start a family with you, my love!” he wrote in English.
According to Eric’s manager, Eric and Dacie registered their marriage at the end of last year and had plans to start a family.
"They registered [their marriage] first, and everything happened naturally. They are very grateful to God for giving them best gift," said the manager.
Though she declined to reveal the baby’s gender and when Dacie is due, she said Eric was very excited and happy when he learned that he was going to be a father and is ready to welcome what’s to come.
She added that Eric’s schedule is packed, with jobs planned till the end of the year, but he will try to take time out to keep Dacie company.
Eric proposed last October when they were holidaying in Europe
Eric and Dacie split temporarily in October 2020 after dating for two years.
They were said to have disagreed on marriage and he did not want to hold back her career.
They reconciled in 2021 and got engaged last October after Eric proposed when they were on holiday in Europe.
