Tech moguls face off: Elon Musk dares Mark Zuckerberg to fight in a cage match

It’s a clash of the tech titans no one saw coming: Twitter boss Elon Musk vs Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg in a cage match.

It all started on Tuesday (June 20), when Musk replied to a tweet about reports that Facebook is developing a Twitter competitor.

“I’m sure Earth can’t wait to be exclusively under Zuck’s thumb with no other options. At least it will be ‘sane’. Was worried there for a moment,” the Tesla CEO tweeted with a crying-laughing emoji.

A Twitter user then cautioned Musk not to mess with Zuckerberg. “I heard he does ju jitsu now,” he warned, referring to the Facebook founder’s recent jiu-jitsu tournament last month where he took home gold and silver medals.

Musk didn't seem intimidated. “I’m up for a cage match if he is lol,” he replied.

Then things started to escalate, ish.

The following day, Zuckerberg responded on Instagram, by sharing a Story which included a screenshot of said challenge and responded with, “Send Me Location”.

Get in the ring: Mark Zuckerberg accepted Elon Musk's cage match face-off.

And Musk suggested via Twitter, “Vegas Octagon”

He added, “I have this great move that I call ‘The Walrus’, where I just lie on top of my opponent & do nothing.”

Is this just billionaire banter? Or are they serious about taking a break from running their tech empires to bet each other to a pulp in a cage? We hope they are. Because this is the kind of distraction the world needs right now.

If they are, may we suggest Jeff Bezos be the referee?
