Thomas Ong Bumped Into Carole Lin While She Was House Hunting; Said They Haven’t Seen Each Other In “More Than 10 Years”

The last drama they acted together in was 1996 drama The Unbroken Cycle.

It’s pretty obvious from social media, that our stars have been busy meeting up with their long-time-no-see pals now that the pandemic seems to be under control in Singapore.

Among them are Thomas Ong and former Mediacorp actress Carole Lin, who caught up over tea after bumping into each other last week.

It was clearly a memorable occasion for the pair, who each dedicated a post on IG to their meet-up.

Carole, 47, posted a selfie from their unexpected encounter as well a #throwback snap, along with this caption: “25 years later… Last pic: 25 years ago at a press conference… I think we look better now.

Thomas, on the other hand, captioned his post with a succinct “Hey!”.

While Thomas, 51, didn't say much in his IG post, he was a lot more descriptive when 8days.sg contacted him. According to the actor, he and Carole met by chance along East Coast Road. He was taking a stroll after a meal, while Carole was there to hunt for a new house.

“I was with another friend in the area to eat chicken rice. We were walking around after our meal when my friend noticed Carole. He was like, “Hey! Isn’t that Carole?”. I called her name and she turned around! She was wearing a cap and a mask, so I couldn’t recognise her,” laughed Thomas over the phone.

2 of 2 The Unbroken Cycle

Thomas tells us the last time he met Carole was “more than 10 years ago” while the last drama they acted together in was 1996 fantasy-romance drama The Unbroken Cycle, which starred Fann Wong.

“It’s been so long that I don’t even remember anything, nor the old picture she posted. I don't remember what the occasion was,” chuckled Thomas.
