Viral Pic Claiming That Kris Wu Has Put On A Lot Of Weight In Jail Turns Out To Be Fake

There have been lots of rumours about disgraced Chinese-Canadian pop idol Kris Wu since the 31-year-old was arrested by Beijing police on suspicion of rape last July. Remember that crazy one about how he is actually secretly married with a two-year-old daughter, and that his wife is raising the kid on her own now that Kris is incarcerated?

This week, a photo of what Kris allegedly looks like after many months in jail has gone viral.

In the pic, Kris appears to have put on a lot of weight and looks vastly different from the trim idol many people remember him to be.

“Prison food must be really good,” one netizen quipped, while another added that it was “surprising how he had such a good appetite given that his career is done for”.

However, netizens who have followed Kris' career over the years are certain that not only is the pic not a recent one, it is also fake.

According to these netizens, Kris had worn that top for a video interview in 2015. He also had the same hairstyle and the backdrop is identical as well (see next pic).

Netizens are also very sure that someone must have taken a screenshot of that interview before editing Kris’ face to make it look like he has gained a lot of weight.
