Is Wu Jinyan Deliberately Copying Angelababy’s Style?

Admit it: most of us are probably guilty of copying our favourite celeb’s style in one way or another. But while that’s totally normal behaviour for a fan, a public figure doing the same thing — whether intentionally or not — can have unpleasant consequences.

According to Chinese reports, Weibo users have recently pointed out that Story of Yanxi Palace star Wu Jinyan has been sporting hairstyles, make-up, and clothes that look a little too similar to those that Angelababy has worn before. Jinyan has even been accused of copying Angelababy’s poses when getting photographed.

The claims were backed by collages of the two beauties placed side by side — and we have to say, the similarities are pretty uncanny. Also, who else is impressed by how resourceful these netizens are!

While some netizens agree that it’s common for celebrities to end up wearing the same clothes (which is why “Who Wore It Better” stories even exist), they also admit that there are too many similarities between Jinyan and Angelababy for this to be a mere coincidence.

On the other hand, there were fans who have come to Jinyan’s defence, saying that stylists are usually the ones responsible for a celeb’s hair, make-up, and clothing choices, and that they just follow the latest trends.

They also say that Jinyan shouldn’t be the one bearing the brunt of such allegations, as there are also tons of women who imitate Angelababy’s style as well.

And who can blame them, right?
