Zhang Yimou, 71, and Wife, 39, Reportedly First People In China To Own New Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT
On the Porsche Singapore website, the car is priced from S$813,688, not including COE.
Younger stars like Jay Chou, JJ Lin, and Jimmy Lin aren’t the only ones who know how to fill their garages with the shiniest and swankiest new rides.
A netizen recently shared a post to excitedly announce that renowned Chinese filmmaker Zhang Yimou, 71, and his 39-year-old wife Chen Ting had bought a customised Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT from his dealership in Shenzhen, China. This allegedly makes the couple the very first people to own that model in the country.
The netizen also uploaded several pictures from that day, including shots of Yimou and Chen Ting deep in discussion with the staff, autographed postcards, and Yimou posing happily for group photos with the team.
Netizens did some research and discovered that the car Yimou bought costs upwards of 2.4mil yuan (S$503,000), impressing everyone with his financial situation. (P/S: It’s priced from S$813,688, not including COE, on the Porsche Singapore website.)
Then again, this is the same guy who could afford being slapped with a S$1.5mil fine for having two “excessive children” under China’s former one-child policy.
That wasn’t all that got people talking, though.
Some folks expressed their concern for Yimou’s health, pointing out that he looks “too thin” and that he has a “sallow complexion”. However, others disagree, saying that he actually appears quite sprightly for his age.
Yimou seems to be a Porsche fan.
Last year, it was reported that he had gifted Chen Ting with a 2mil yuan (S$420,000) car from the German automobile manufacturer proving just how much he dotes on his missus.
