Award-winning drama All That Glitters and four CNA documentaries are set to head to Netflix, announced Mediacorp in a press release on Tuesday (Apr 30).
The show, which will make its Netflix debut on Jun 1, clinched a total of eight awards at this year’s Star Awards including Best Drama Serial, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor.
Written by the screenwriter Ang Eng Tee, who is known for his work on the critically acclaimed period drama The Little Nyonya, All That Glitters follows three friends who are driven to crime and destruction as they try to rise above their fate.
This month, four CNA documentaries will also start streaming on Netflix.
Seasons 1 and 2 of Slumfood Millionaire, a documentary series that celebrates the dishes made by talented cooks in the slums of Asia, will be available on the streaming platform from Friday (May 3).
Meanwhile, Brothers In Arms, which showcases Singapore’s crime and violence from the early 1960s and 1970s, will start streaming on May 10.
Viewers can also look forward to getting exclusive access into the hidden world of Changi Airport’s airfreight operations with Premium Rush: Inside Air Cargo Singapore from May 17.
Last but not least, the second season of Inside Crime Scene, a docudrama series that revisits some heinous crimes from the 1980s to the more recent, will also be available this month. Season 1 is already on Netflix.
“We are delighted to work with Netflix once again to showcase some of the best homegrown productions to audiences beyond our shores… we hope that viewers will come to enjoy the thrill and excitement of our dramas as well as the enriching and thought-provoking documentaries,” said Mediacorp’s head of content distribution, Jesslyn Wong.
This latest deal builds on several earlier ones between Mediacorp and Netflix, including simultaneously debuting Malay crime-themed drama Operandi Gerhana on Netflix and mewatch in September last year, said Mediacorp.
