Although there's no word on when the third Dune movie will be out, fans who want to revisit the Dune universe won't have to wait for long. This year, streaming service Max will release a prequel series titled Dune: Prophecy, set 10,000 years before the events of 2021's Dune which starred Timothee Chalamet.
The show focuses on the Bene Gesserit, a group of women who trained their bodies and minds to gain superhuman abilities.
A release date for Dune: Prophecy has not been set. However, on Wednesday (May 15), Max released a teaser trailer for the series, revealing a glimpse of its main character Valya Harkonnen, played by British actress Emily Watson.
Hours before the release of the teaser, US entertainment outlet Variety revealed that Bollywood actress Tabu and South Korean singer-actress Jihae had been cast in Dune: Prophecy.

Jihae, who is known for her role as Berry Schneider in HBO's Succession will play Reverend Mother Kasha, the emperor's confidante.
Previously-announced cast members include Olivia Williams, Jodhi May, Sarah-Sofie Boussnina and Chris Mason.
