South Korean celebrity couple Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin recently donated 150 million won (US$113,500) to support children in need. On Tuesday (Jan 9), Son's agency MS Team Entertainment announced that the couple made two donations: One to the Asan Medical Centre, which will be used to fund children's medical fees, and the other to the Jusarang Community Foundation, which will be used to help single mothers and their children.
In a news release, Son explained: "I decided to donate with the hope that it will be a Christmas gift that will warm the hearts of children who are more desperate for help than ever in these difficult times."
The couple has a history of donating to charitable causes, having previously donated 200 million won in 2022 to help those affected by the Uljin forest fire.
Son and Hyun Bin married on Mar 31, 2022 after starring in the hit drama Crash Landing On You. They welcomed their first child in November that year.
