The upcoming Sonic The Hedgehog threequel is about to get some serious star power. Multiple US entertainment outlets have reported that John Wick star Keanu Reeves has joined Sonic The Hedgehog 3 as Shadow, a character who has long been a fan-favourite.
In the original video games, Shadow is an antihero who initially sought revenge for the death of his best friend. He eventually became one of the most popular characters in the Sonic franchise and even got his own titular game in 2005.
Shadow's appearance in Sonic The Hedgehog 3 was teased during the mid-credits scene of the previous Sonic film, which showed him awakening from a deep slumber. It remains to be seen if the film will faithfully adapt his origin story.
