Squid Game's Lee Byung-hun, GOT7's BamBam attend opening of Singapore's first Jacob & Co boutique

Luxury watch and jewellery brand Jacob & Co officially opened its first-ever Singapore boutique on Tuesday (Nov 25), with acclaimed South Korean actor Lee Byung-hun (Squid Game, Kpop Demon Hunters) and Thai singer BamBam of K-pop group GOT7 gracing the event.

Fans descended on the second level of Takashimaya Shopping Centre for a glimpse of the two stars, who briefly spoke to CNA Lifestyle about their sense of style – and shared love for Singaporean food.

Sporting a dapper green jacket and blue jeans, BamBam spoke about his personal style, saying that he likes to "keep it simple" but enjoys adding some "colour, bling, accessories and watches".

"It depends on my mood that day," he chimed.

The GOT7 member also praised Hainanese chicken rice and chilli crab as his favourite Singaporean dishes while lauding the country's cleanliness.

"Everything is so clean," said the 28-year-old singer. "I feel like I can [lie] down outside!"

Similarly, Lee said that he was a fan of Singaporean food – adding that he was "going to have lunch after this".

As for his personal style, the 55-year-old actor said that "the most important thing is [feeling] comfortable". 

However, he emphasised the importance of having a "point" item, aka a signature item, while gesturing towards his hefty Jacob & Co timepiece.

The new Jacob & Co boutique, in partnership with Singapore’s Sincere Fine Watches, sports an elegant monochrome theme, with star motifs on its ceiling and diamond-patterned quilted wall panels.

Shoppers can expect some unique timepieces at the boutique, including the location-exclusive Astronomia Solar Dragon, which boasts a hand-engraved dragon that’s coiled around a rotating blue magnesium globe and is crowned by a 288-facet orange Jacob-cut diamond at its heart.

The boutique also has Jacob & Co’s jewellery line, including the Love Lockdown collection, which features pieces themed after handcuffs.
